Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long does it take to complete training?
A. All training is self-paced, meaning you go at your own speed. Some students complete the entire training process within 24 hours of enrollment.

Q. Can I make CDL training available to my entire organization?
A. Yes. Contact us, and we'll customize a package for your organization.

Q. How long after taking the training can I get on the road?
A. Once you have completed the training and taken your state’s written Commercial Driver’s License exam, you will need to complete a hands-on portion of training and then take the driving skills test. Program graduates who have completed the written CDL exam often receive tuition discounts and preferred registration at truck driving schools. If you need assistance in locating a school to take the driving part, please give Tim a call at 866-817-4621.

Q. Do I need to complete the whole course?
A. No. We do recommend each student complete the sections relevant to the type of CDL for which they are applying. This will ensure you're 100% prepared for the exam. You may purchase only specific sections if you wish. Just select the courses you'd like on the products page.

Q. Do I have to use a truck school to further my training?
A. OnlineCDLTraining can be used either as continuing education for existing truck drivers or as part of a complete CDL training program. To obtain your CDL license, additional hours are required at a truck driving school or certified training center for the skills section of the CDL. Call Tim at 866-817-4621, and he can arrange this part of the test for you.

Q. Do I still need to attend classroom training at a truck driving school?
A.
No. The OnlineCDLTraining program replaces classroom time for training to pass the driver's permit.

Q. Can you help me find a job?
A. Yes. Visit www.ndrjobs.com, or call 866-817-4621.

Q. How does the training work with my state’s CDL exam?
A. Handbooks for all 50 states are included in the training. The training will help you pass the exam for any state you choose.

Q. What do I do once I complete a course?
A. At the end of each course, you will be presented with an option to take a test for that course. You may go over the online courses as many times as you want and take practice tests as many times as you need.

Q. Who do I call if I am having problems using the online training?
